Exposed Concrete Surface Primer

Definition

An acrylic-based plaster primer that improves adhesion and workability on exposed concrete surfaces. It improves the adhesion of plaster to exposed concrete and ceilings, and roughens smooth surfaces.

Typical values are given at +23 °C and 50% relative humidity. High temperatures shorten the time, low temperatures extend it.

• Used indoors, for vertical and ceiling applications.
• Used as a primer for plaster, lime, and cement-based plaster mortars to be applied to raw concrete surfaces.
• Prevents rapid water loss, improves performance and workability.
• Solvent-free, water-based; harmless to human health and the environment.
• Prevents cracking on the surface.

Preparation Before Application

• The surface must be free of dirt.
• The surface temperature should be between +5 °C and +30 °C.
• Add 2.5-3.5 liters of water to 12 kg of Allastar and mix for 5 minutes with a low-speed mixer.
• The mixture should be stirred occasionally during the working time.

Application Method

• The absorbency of the surface should be determined.
• Allastar is applied with a textured roller.
• After the material has dried, wait an average of 24 hours, then proceed with the plaster application.

Recommendations and Warnings

• For best results, the ambient temperature should be between +5 °C and +35 °C.
• The performance temperature is between –20 °C and +80 °C.
• Wait 24 hours for the material to dry completely.
• Do not use on excessively damp surfaces.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Equipment used should be cleaned with water after application.

Storage Conditions

• Store in a dry environment between +5 °C and +30 °C, protected from freezing.
• It can be stored for 12 months in its original packaging.
• Pallets should not be stacked on top of each other for long-term storage.

Occupational Health and Safety

• The necessary occupational health and safety measures should be taken in the application area.
• Protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and masks should be used.
• The work area should be ventilated.
• The product should not come into contact with skin or eyes; if contact occurs, it should be washed with plenty of water and medical assistance should be sought.
• It should be kept away from children.
